Seasonal finery

Hey, look what I'm wearing for the Horn Book Holiday Lunch today:

Do you think Bill O'Reilly would approve? We're having Middle Eastern, which I'm sure would bring out his not-so-latent schizophrenia. (Thanks to Richard for the early morning photograph.)

It's a lovely blue sweater, Roger.

It's actually green, but Richard warned me that would probably not show up.

That changes everything. Go change.

but I'm so seasonal, matchie-poo, even!

Yes, but unless the tie lights up and squirts water discretely at the person next to you, you really haven't thought this through, Roger. I'm surprised Richard didn't catch you before you left...oh yes, he likes Philip Roth. Enough said.

Anyhow, I think you should give us at least three choices and not blog on with your bow ties as a fait accompli. But that is the good thing about Christmas. Unless we are taken over by alien forces who believe God wants trees to stay put, there is always next year.

Good thing my boyfriend taught you how to tie one. Well knotted! Looks like the bottom layer on your right side is peeping out just a bit, though.

hm...Christmas bow tie or holiday bow tie??

Anyway, enjoy your lunch. Don't stuff.

Quite fashionable and festive! Although I think it might be upside-down. But then, you're probably starting a new trend.

You know, Lisa, I could probably construct an argument that the candy canes on the tie are in eating, not hanging position, but in fact I think you are correct. Most bowties can go either way, but this one will have to go the watchlist with my other upon which reside naked girls lounging in champagne glasses, both of which threaten to spill onto my shirt if the tie is worn incorrectly. Today's tie has little Christmas, um, Holiday trees that are in fact pointing toward Heaven, um, the sky.

Lisa, I don't know how to say this but...the girl was actually upside-down on the jacket of your first book.

She was? Phew! All this time I thought I was the one who was discombobulated.
