it seems signiicant that no one has an opinion pro or con the starred books. lots of chit chat and witticisms, but no response to what one might have assumed to be the main concern of the bloggers' ninds

Anonymous 11:58, do you have any opinions on the starred books? I've not read them, so I have none. I will say that the Half-Minute Horrors caught my eye; we can never have enough scary stories in our collection.
In a perfect world, no one would have anything to say about the starred books because the Horn Book was so damned timely that they would not have had the chance to read the books yet!
surely th editors and/or friends of the honored authors could have piled in with congrats?
